Matthew Yee-King is a computer music composer and researcher as well as a computer science lecturer and freelance software engineer. His solo compositions have been released on labels such as Warp and Aphex Twin's Rephlex Records. His most recent recording and live work has been with acclaimed UK flautist and saxophonist Finn Peters, whose quintet won the BBC 'best jazz band' award in 2007. Matthew's role in the band is to process and synthesize sound, using live-coding techniques and SuperCollider.

Matthew's research work centres around an artificial life inspired approach to automatic sound synthesizer design. He has developed an automated improviser and a self-reprogramming drum machine but has most recently been working on a general purpose automatic synthesizer programmer.
